Bing Ads Intelligence Update: A More Streamlined Keyword Research and Analysis Experience

We’re happy to announce the release of the new and improved Bing Ads Intelligence. Bing Ads Intelligence is an Excel add-in that helps you perform sophisticated keyword research and observe keyword performance on the Yahoo! Bing Network*. Our update offers a number of new and enhanced features to make it more convenient to use.

1. Find What You Need in the New Ribbon

Bing Ads New and Improved Intelligence_RibbonA new ribbon at the top of your page provides quick access to your favorite keyword research tools, as well as some new ones. For example, check out “Keyword Research & Account” to fetch keywords from your Bing Ads account, get optimization suggestions, and then send them to a spreadsheet you can import back into your online or desktop application (Bing Ads Editor).

Tip: Advanced keyword research options like “Associated Keywords” and “Related Searches Traffic,” as well as Keyword Research Templates (learn more about using templates to optimize for holidays and best practices), are still available under “More Research Options.

2. Perform Keyword and Bid Research in a Single Spreadsheet

Researching keywords and bids just got easier. Add a few keywords and click “Keyword Suggestions” for a list of suggested keywords by match type, associated key performance indicators (KPIs), and estimated bids. All keyword insight is now available in this central location.

You will now be able to apply suggested keywords customized for you, based on the ads and keywords you’re already using. Sign in today and check out your Keyword Suggestions on the Bing Ads Opportunities Tab.

How does it work?

On the Bing Ads Opportunities page, we now provide you with exact match keyword suggestions that we think are relevant to your campaigns and will help your ads serve more often. The suggestions are based on the keywords and ads you’re already using in each ad group. For each keyword recommendation on the Keyword Suggestions page, we will provide you with the following:

  • A suggested first page bid.
  • A recommended ad group and campaign.
  • An easy accept option to apply the suggested keyword. You can also reject a suggestion by choosing a specific reason; this helps Bing Ads to provide you with better results in the future.
  • The option to add unique destination URLs and parameters.

Great, how do I get started?

  1. Sign in to Bing Ads.
  2. Click Campaigns at the top of the page.

    • To add the selected keywords, click Apply.
    • You can modify the bid value of the suggested keyword prior to apply. To modify, just click on the value and edit it inline.
    • You can reject suggested keywords by selecting the keywords and then clicking Reject. You'll be asked to choose the reason you're rejecting the keywords. This helps Bing Ads do a more effective job of suggesting future keywords for you.

  7. Optionally, you can also associate a dynamic text variable with suggested keywords. Just click the field to the right of the keyword under the {param1}, {param2}, or {param3} column heading, type the word or phrase you want, and click Apply.
