#BingBites at Advertising Week Europe

Insights play an integral role in understanding consumer behaviour online. They’re a crucial tool for brands to ensure they reach the right consumers, at the right time and on the right device.

Search data holds a multitude of insights that can be utilised by brands to achieve this. Here at Bing we are extremely passionate about the role of insights in informing connections to empower them to engage with consumers as effectively as possible, in the most relevant way. Uncovering these for marketers allows us to help them keep a finger on the pulse of their consumers and react directly to changing behaviour patterns or purchase decisions.

It was why, throughout Advertising Week Europe last week, we captured both our own unique insights and other leading market data, into bitesize infographics called #BingBites. Shared across our @BingAds social channels, these graphics were aligned to the key trends and themes being discuss throughout the event across the different panel sessions and presentations.

In case you missed them last week, we’ve included a couple below. Join the conversation at #BingBites and look out for more in the future.

Bing Shopping launches in the UK

With 80 per cent of shoppers now researching products online before they decide to buy, managing and organising product ads has never been more important for marketers, which is why today we launch Bing Shopping in the UK, a new product to the Bing product suite.

Bing Shopping is a simple way to organise, manage, bid, and report on product ads. We’ve created Bing Shopping to provide marketers with greater control over campaigns and a higher degree of granularity, offering the ability to delve into the analysis of budget, spend and resultant engagement.

Recent research suggests that search is now the number one in-store companion for shoppers, so for advertisers targeting at this optimal moment, it is crucial to monitor and manage the impact of these targeted campaigns. This is where Bing Shopping helps to generate actionable and real-time insight into campaign performance, allowing managers the opportunity to continuously review their data.

Currently, we have brands such as Littlewoods already using Bing Shopping to ensure their retail campaigns are as effective as possible and we are very excited to offer launch Bing Shopping today. With an accessible user interface and important analytical elements, Bing Shopping offers you the ability to execute a truly successful campaign.

Launched: Bing Ads Platform Health Updates

We’re always thinking of ways to make your working life easier, which is why we’ve launched Bing Ads Platform Health Blog:

We hope nothing ever goes wrong but when something does we’d like you to know what’s happening, give you updates, workarounds if available and give you the green light when all is back to normal.

Example of a Bing Ads platform update

How it works:

The main Platform Health Blog page at shows a status icon, which will turn orange when Bing Ads is impacted by an issue, and red if there is an outage and green when an issue has been resolved. The details of the issue will appear below, including the time it started, which parts of Bing Ads are affected, and any known workarounds. We’ll post regular updates as our engineering team investigates and resolves the issue. Once it’s fixed, we’ll keep showing the post on the main page for 24 hours. After that, you can see it in our “Older Issues” archive. You can also subscribe to our RSS feed to automatically see a notification in your browser or RSS reader when a new post appears.

Please visit to see our latest updates, sign up to the RSS feed or follow us on Twitter.
